 Today we discussed childhood and growing up. We talked about how growing up too fast can negatively effect a child. Things like drinking as a kid, doing drugs, and inappropriate clothes can make you feel and seem older then you are. We went  over a short story called “out,out” It was about a kid who was left to do an adults job and ended up getting severely hurt and dying. 

 Today in Mr. Reese class, we talked about Native Americans, and we read a passage that related to major events in the Bible. We used the words earth, mankind, humans, plants and animals, mythology, and the Bible as comparisons in the passage

 I wasn’t in class today because I was sick.

 Today in Mr.Reese class we went over two poems the first one dream deferred, it talked about what can happen when you go away from pursuing your dreams. The second one was refugee in America. It talked about freedom and liberty from the control of other people. The last one was called I too, and it talked about someone who was treated differently but was still positive and stood up for himself.

Today we went over a poem by Langston Hughes called “The negro speaks of rivers” and we broke it down line by line to better understand it. The poem was about the long history of the black race, and how Langston Hughes was speaking for black people through the poem.

 Today in Mr.Reese’a class, we talked about how words and sentences can be complex and have more than one meaning. We read a poem called we real cool that talked about kids that did things that were considered cool to people their age. We went through the steps Of the multi-draft reading strategy that helps you breakdown complex words and understand them better.

 Today we made a cluster for steps to organizing a family reunion.

 Today we learned some brainstorming techniques. We learned about clustering, listing, and free writing.

 My name is Elijah Caine, I am 16 years old and my birthday is on August 15 2005. Some of my hobbies are basketball and football. My goals for this year are to finish all classes with all A’s. People describe me as funny and social. Some things that are unique about me are my height. My favorite color is red, my favorite food is pizza, my favorite rapper is no cap, and my favorite place is my house.
